Latics loan experienced Cardiff forward

Wigan have confirmed the loan signing of Alex Revell from Cardiff City.

The striker has featured 11 times for the Bluebirds so far this season, bagging himself one goal. Despite featuring quite frequently, he has now been allowed to leave the club to join League 1 Wigan, who are currently battling for promotion.

The 32-year old has a lot of Football League experience under his belt. He played over 150 times for Rotherham from 2011 to 2015 and he’s also had stints at Leyton Orient, Southend and Brighton.

The deal sees Revell join the Latics on a short-term basis – the deal ends on the 23rd January, so he has just over two months with the DW Stadium side.

He could go straight into the side this weekend, as Wigan take on Rochdale, with current first-team striker Will Grigg on international duty.
