Bolton and Rotherham miss out on Everton striker

Championship sides Bolton Wanderers and Rotherham United have missed out on signing Everton striker David Henen, as the player joined Fleetwood Town on loan on Wednesday.

It was reported yesterday that both clubs, who occupy the bottom two positions of the Championship table, were on alert as Roberto Martinez was willing to loan the youngster out.  However a deal to either club is now off the table as Henen has joined Fleetwood.

This may disappoint Bolton and Rotherham fans, as both clubs could use some extra fire power to lift them up the table and away from the relegation zone.  This is especially true for Bolton Wanderers, who are without a win in ten games.

However the Championship may have been too big a step for Henen, who has made six appearances for Everton Under-21s this season.

Henen said of his one-month loan move: “I am very happy to join Fleetwood Town and I feel it is a good opportunity for me

“I am looking forward to playing in League One. It is very competitive and it will set me up well for the future.”
