Bradford City blunt Lions’ teeth at Den

The Bantams emerged from today’s trip to The Den with a creditable 0-0 draw against a Millwall side performing well just outside of the playoff places, the Lions laying in 7th place in the table.

Millwall entered the game on the back of a trio of games unbeaten at home but they found a determined City team in front of them who were determined that no quarter would be granted to their opponents in what is often a bear-pit atmosphere at The Den. In doing so, The Bantams stretched their own unbeaten record to five games as they consolidated 14th place in the league table.

Scoring chances were few and far between in the game but the Lion’s best chance of the game when City’s keeper Ben Williams needed to be at the top of his game to keep out a shot by Millwall’s Shaun Williams, a fine reaction save keeping out the Millwall player’s shot.

City also had their chances with the impressive Devante Cole having a penalty shout ignored when he was bundled over in the area. Kyel Reid also went close, firing over on the stretch when trying to help in a dangerous long-throw from Lee Evans that boucned dangerously in the Millwall area.

Ahead of the break in league football, to take account of the FA Cup first round, both managers were happy with the shared spoils with Millwall manager, Neil Harris, saying,

“It was two good sides in good form at the moment facing each other. I think there was a lot of cancelling each other out, two game plans that were quite similar and we just didn’t quite have the end product today.” Neil Harris – BBC Radio London (via BBC Sport): October 31, 2015
