Swindon, Ramsey ready to let midfielder stay in Swindon

Ramsey ready to let midfielder stay in Swindon

QPR boss Chris Ramsey is willing to let Ben Gladwin stay on loan at Swindon for another month, according to Get West London.

The midfielder re-joined his former side on an emergency loan at the beginning of October and he has since featured quite prominently for the Robins.

He is keen to stay at the club for a longer period and QPR boss Chris Ramsey could be ready to grant him his wish and let him stay with them for another month, with the 23-year old unable to break into the first-team squad at Loftus Road.

That could be down to Junior Hoilett, who is currently filling Gladwin’s position for the R’s. The 25-year old has featured just three times for QPR so far this season but he played in the club’s win over MK Dons last week and even managed to get his name on the scoresheet.

That goal may have cemented his place in the squad for the time being and it means Gladwin is free to stay in Swindon.

Boss Chris Ramsey is also up for the idea of keeping Gladwin with the Robins as he said: “We would consider an extended loan, because at the moment we’ve got players who are playing, and we’re hoping to revitalise the likes of Junior and people like that from his international duty.

“If they’re firing, Ben won’t come back and be in the squad.”

So maybe it is for the best that Gladwin stays in League 1 for the time being. The 23-year old has featured in four games for Swindon so far, scoring one in their 2-2 draw with Coventry last weekend.

It should be the end of his loan but it appears as if he could be set to stay at the County ground for a little longer.
