Brentford forward attracting Premier League interest

Brentford’s Alan Judge is a transfer target for a number of Premier League club’s according to Evening Standard. His contract at Griffin Park expires at the end of next season, and has been attracting interest for the league above.

The 26-year-old has been the star man for Brentford this season, who has recently seen an upturn in form since Lee Carsley was appointed as their new Head Coach. He has helped himself to six goals and managed to create four more for his teammates as well.

Leicester City, Swansea City and AFC Bournemouth have all sent scouts to watch the attacker, who can play either on the wing or in the ‘number ten’ role.

It is believed that Brentford had looked to tie down Judge to a new contract during pre-season, but those talks mysteriously halted, leading to speculation that he could be on the move as early as January.

The Irishman signed for Brentford in January 2014, originally on loan from Blackburn Rovers, and the move was eventually made permanent in June of the same year. He was part of the squad which finished as runner’s-up in League One for the 2013/14 campaign and in the previous season he was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year after a successful year at Notts County.

It is certainly no surprise to see Judge linked with Premier League teams, especially now he has established himself in the Championship and is making a consistent impact in matches. His work-rate is a major part of his game and it is that attitude which will almost certainly impress a number of scouts attending Brentford fixtures.
