Leeds United could loan Premier League goalkeeper

Leeds United could be set to sign Manchester City goalkeeper Richard Wright on loan, according to a report.

New Leeds boss Steve Evans is looking for a goalkeeper on a short-term deal after back-up goalkeeper Ross Turnbull suffered an injury.  He has reportedly identified Manchester City goalkeeper Richard Wright as the man he wants to sign to replace Turnbull.

Wright, 37, is very experienced but has not played a competitive game since the 2011-12 season, playing in the Championship for Ipswich Town.  This was his only appearance of the season.

The goalkeeper has had three spells at Ipswich, the club at which he began his career, making over 300 appearances for the club.  Wright has also played for Arsenal and Everton, and won two England caps in 2000-01.

Despite this, Wright has not played a competitive game for Manchester City since signing for the club in 2012. The goalkeeper only made his first appearance in a first-team squad for the club this season in their Capital One Cup win at Sunderland.
