Southampton to review striker’s Championship loan

Southampton are set to review striker Sam Gallagher’s loan at Championship side MK Dons at the end of the year, according to a report by The Sun.

MK Dons were one of several clubs chasing Gallagher in the summer but managed to fend off the competition and sign the striker until the end of the season.  However since joining he has not played as many games as Southampton would have liked.

MK Dons made a slow start to the season but four points from their last two games have moved them up to 18th place.  Gallagher has only started 5 of the club’s first 12 games.

Southampton rate Gallagher very highly and want to see him playing games and progressing whilst out on loan.  Therefore it is believed they will review the striker’s loan in January and decide whether to recall Gallagher or loan him elsewhere.
