Bolton Wanderers are ready to bring in 32 year-old striker Carlton Cole as they search for more goals, according to a report by The Sun.
Cole was released from Premier League side West Ham United in the summer after spending nearly ten years at the club and has since been a free agent.
The forward has been training with Scottish champions Celtic and is looking to earn a contract with the club, but recently Cole suffered a calf injury and this has delayed Celtic’s decision on whether they will offer the player a contract.
As Celtic haven’t yet made a decision, Bolton boss Neil Lennon is ready to swoop in if the move starts to collapse.
Bolton are currently bottom of the Championship and have scored only 9 goals in their first 12 league games, meaning they are desperate for more fire power in their ranks.
Their lack of goals was epitomized yesterday evening as they lost 0-1 at home to Birmingham City.
