Former Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is back in management with Norwegian side Molde FK according to the BBC. This is his second spell with the club, after previously leaving them to link up with the Welsh side.
42-year-old Solskjaer, who made his name with Manchester United in his playing days, enjoyed a spell with Molde prior to moving to Old Trafford. In his first spell with the three-time Norwegian Premier League Championships, he was responsible for two of those successes and also won the domestic cup competition.
However it would be fair to say that his time at the Cardiff City Stadium was a bitter disappointment. It was a surprise to see him appointed in the first place, mainly because it was believed Malky Mackay didn’t deserve to be relieved of his duties in the first place. He was appointed in January 2014 and won his first game in charge, an FA Cup tie against Newcastle United. They would end the season bottom of the table, and after a slow start in the Championship the following year, Solskjaer left the club.
Russell Slade would be his eventual replacement after being appointed by Vincent Tan. He has overseen a steady progression in this campaign at least. Last night they defeated Middlesbrough to move within a point of the play-off places in the Championship.
