Trotter, Nottingham Forest snap up Bolton midfielder

Nottingham Forest snap up Bolton midfielder

Nottingham Forest have secured the services of Liam Trotter on a one-month loan deal, according to trusted The72 sources.

The midfielder is hoping to get himself some more first-team action at Forest, where he will be playing under his former manager, Dougie Freedman.

Freedman has been keen on bringing the 27-year old to the City Ground for several weeks now and reports from our source have confirmed that Trotter has finally completed a move to the club. Forest are of course currently under a transfer embargo and the midfielder is therefore only joining on a one-month deal.

Speaking about his move, the ex-Millwall man said: “It’s been a frustrating couple of months for me, as I had a really good pre-season, but then picked up a couple of minor knocks which forced me out of the Bolton side. Bolton is of course a great club and I have no regrets about joining them last year.

“As a professional footballer though, game-time is important, so going on loan to Forest, which has an equally great pedigree, will definitely help me to kick on this season.”

Trotter has featured just once for Bolton this year so far and he has been struggling to break into the first-team. last year he featured a bit more frequently, playing 18 times and bagging one goal. However, as the play himself mentions, a few knocks have led to him being forced to watch on from the sidelines.

With this move to Forest, it gives him the chance to impress again and also to play some more first-team football, with his first game possibly coming as soon as this Friday, when Dougie Freedman’s side take on Bristol City.
