Leeds United winger could leave club

Leeds United’s on-loan winger Will Buckley could leave the club before his full 93-day loan ends, according to a report.

Buckley only joined the club on Friday on a 93-day emergency loan deal.  However his parent club Sunderland have the option to end this loan spell after only 28 days if they wish to do so.

The winger was surplus to requirements for previous Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat and so was allowed to join Leeds on loan.  With Advocaat’s departure from the club this weekend, Buckley has every chance of being recalled to Sunderland if he is part of their new manager’s plans.

If Buckley is recalled after 28 days, he would only be available for Leeds United’s games Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham, Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers.

Former Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce is among the favorites to be Advocaat’s successor at Sunderland and could be interested in giving Buckley another chance in the club’s first team.

The winger made 22 appearances for Sunderland last season as they narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League.
