Millwall sign Wolves youngster on loan

Millwall have announced the 28-day loan signing of 22-year old George Saville from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The midfielder had a loan deal at The Den in the 2012/13 season – and has now linked up with Millwall again on an emergency loan.

Millwall boss Neil Harris said: “Losing both Jimmy Abdou and Ed Upson to injury for a period of time was a blow so we were certainly looking to strengthen that midfield area.”

“George is a boy who has had a brief spell here before so knows the club and the people. He has won promotion out of this division with Brentford and also helped Bristol City achieve the same success last season so is used to this League and the level of competition,” he went on to add.
Saville has been at Wolverhampton Wanderers since signing for an undisclosed fee in August 2014. This was after playing at Chelsea’s academy and impressing in Brentford’s promotion to the Championship in their 2013/14 campaign.
He was also on loan at Bristol City last season and featured eight times, with the Robins eventually being promoted to the Championship also.
Saville is eligible to play for Millwall in tonight’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Northampton Town, and will wear the number 21 shirt for the Lions.
