Sheffield Wednesday midfielder wins Fans’ Player of the Month

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Ross Wallace has won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month Award for August/September in the Championship.

Wallace joined the Yorkshire club this summer from recently relegated side Burnley and has been in great form.  His performances have contributed to the club winning 15 points from their opening 10 games in the Championship this season.

Every month, a panel of experts produces a shortlist of players who have been nominated for Player of the Month in the Championship.  Fans then have the opportunity to vote for who they think should win the award.

The initial list this month consisted of Charlie Austin (QPR), Nick Blackman (Reading), Clayton Donaldson (Birmingham), Ryan Fraser (Ipswich), Tomer Hemed (Brighton), Emyr Huws (Huddersfield), Michael Kean (Burnley), Kike (Middlesbrough), Jamie O’Hara (Fulham), Jordan Rhodes (Blackburn), Orlando Sa (Reading) and Ross Wallace (Sheffield Wednesday).

This list was then reduced to just three players – Nick Blackman, Jamie O’Hara and Ross Wallace, with Wallace being voted the winner.

Wallace has made eight appearances in the league for Sheffield Wednesday this season, scoring one goal and getting four assists.
