Leeds United youngster scouted by Premier League outfit

Leeds United youngster Charlie Taylor was watched by a Premier League scout during the Whites’ 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City at Elland Road on Saturday, according to BBC Radio Leeds’ Adam Pope.

The 22-year-old has been one of the stand-out stars in Uwe Rosler’s side since making his breakthrough into the first team during the second half of last season. This season, he has featured in nine out of ten of Leeds United’s Championship fixtures, scoring one and assisting another.

Previously, Premier League giants Manchester United were linked with a move for the young full-back and are believed to still be interested in bringing Taylor to Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

Taylor was recently voted as Leeds United’s Player of the Month for September, an award decided for by fans’ votes. This reflects his popularity amongst Leeds fans who recognise the talent and further potential that the full-back possesses.

Whilst Manchester United were known to be interested, a number of Premier League clubs are reportedly monitoring Taylor’s progress throughout the course of this season.

Despite operating in his primary left-back position this season, Taylor played in a more advanced role last season to provide Leeds with the width they desperately needed. This attacking part of his game saw him score twice and assist one.
