Tottenham watch on-loan Preston goalkeeper

Tottenham Hotspur are the latest Premier League club understood to be interested in Preston’s on-loan goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, according to a report.

It is believed that the goalkeeper is Tottenham’s main transfer target in the January transfer window, following his good form for Preston North End.

Pickford has been in great form so far this season for Preston, managing to keep three clean sheets in nine appearances despite the team sitting in the relegation zone in the Championship.

This form has sparked interest from Tottenham and Spurs scout Ian Broomfield has been sent to watch the goalkeeper play this season.

However Tottenham are not the only interested club, with Aston Villa also believed to be in the market for a goalkeeper and interested in Pickford.

Pickford is due to return to Sunderland, his parent club, in January.  Instead of loaning the goalkeeper back to Preston, who will almost certainly be interested, Sunderland may opt to try Pickford in the Premier League or sell him to one of the interested parties.
