Forgotten Wolves man pens loan move to Scunthorpe

Scunthorpe United have confirmed on their official website the loan signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Tommy Rowe. He signs on a one-month loan deal, which will expire after the game with Barnsley on 31st October 2015.

The 27-year-old former Peterborough United man will add great variety to Mark Robins’ side, proven by the fact that he can play in a number of different positions. He is functional anywhere on the left side, either as a winger or full back, plus he can do a job in central midfield. In his first interview as a Scunthorpe player on their official website, Rowe says that although the move happened quickly, he is just happy to be back in the fold with a club,

“I’m very happy. It came about around a week ago and I was very keen. I’ve not been playing football for over seven or eight months now. I had a bad season with injuries last year and hopefully I can start playing games and get back to my best. When I found out I was available to play on Saturday, I was so chuffed to get 90 minutes or hopefully just play again.”

Although Rowe had found game-time hard to come by since moving to Molineux back in June 2014, but he still brings a wealth of experience with him. The majority of this came during a five season stay at London Road with Peterborough. It was during that spell he played three seasons in the Championship and was appointed captain for the 2012/13 season.

His Wolves contract expires at the end of this campaign, which is highly unlikely to be extended by manager Kenny Jackett. The former Manchester United youngster will now be hoping to put himself in the shop window, either in time for January or next summer. Of course there is the prospect of potentially earning a permanent deal at Glanford Park, should he impress the management staff with The Iron.
