5 out of work managers chasing Football League jobs

The 2015/16 managerial sack race is starting to slowly but surely take out a few casualties. Two Championship managers departed on the same day earlier this week as chairmen and owners begin to panic after slow starts to the season. We take a look at five managers out of work that will be looking to be back in the Football League as soon as possible.

 

Darren Ferguson

The former Peterborough and Preston manager has today been installed as the favourite to take over from Paul Dickov at League One club Doncaster Rovers. However the likes of Neil Redfearn and current caretaker Rob Jones will also have something to say about that. The son of Sir Alex was also linked with a return to London Road before Graham Westley was given the job by Darragh MacAnthony, however that move was never likely to happen. It is without at Peterborough where he made his name as a manager. His open and attacking sides replicated that of what Kevin Keegan attempted with Newcastle United when they came close to winning the Premier League. He won promotion in consecutive seasons into the Championship at one stage. There is no doubt he’ll be back in a dugout at some point in the future.
