After walking off the pitch with an injury, Bradford City have, via the club’s official Twitter account, today confirmed that winger Paul Anderson has broken his tibia.

The injury occurred after a lunging tackle in midfield, with Anderson being helped from the field and taken straight to hospital for an x-ray. Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson, speaking in the Telegraph and Argus, said, “He’s undergone an x-ray and whether we find out soon or later tonight, it didn’t look good.” As reports have now confirmed, Parkinson was right in his assessment and the former Ipswich winger now faces a lengthy time on the sidelines with the injury and then further time to recuperate.

The question that needs asking at Valley Parade is whether there is strength in depth to cover the unfortunate loss of Paul Anderson or whether City might be dipping into the 93-day emergency loan market to bide their time to the January transfer window.
