Championship linked midfielder rejects move to France

According to a report in The Sun today, Championship linked midfielder Kevin Nolan has rejected a move to French side Lorient.

Nolan has been linked with several Championship clubs since leaving West Ham this summer including Burnley, Cardiff City and former club Bolton Wanderers, however a move has failed to materialise.

Therefore Nolan, 33, has been spending his time training with League 2 side Leyton Orient in order to keep fit in preparation for getting back into football.

It is understood that the midfielder was offered this chance by Ligue 1 side Lorient, who put a two-year deal on the table.  However Nolan rejected this contract as he would have to move him family over to France and also due to wages.

Nolan, who has played in the Championship with both Newcastle United and West Ham, has made nearly 600 career appearances, scoring 111 goals and so would add vital experience to any squad.
