Veteran forward Shola Ameobi is close to signing for Wolves, according to Daily Mail.
The 33-year-old has been training with the Championship club this week, and is close to agreeing a short-term deal.
Ameobi has been a free agent since he was released by Premier League Crystal Palace in the summer, and he was present at the Molineux to see Wolves draw 0-0 with Brighton at the weekend.
When asked Wolves boss Kenny Jackett said: “We are having Shola down for a couple of days training and talks. He is a very experienced frontman who is out of contract. It is a ‘look and see’ both ways as he has other options.”
Ameobi has a wealth of Premier League experience, including scoring 79 goals in 379 games for Newcastle – although he never really cemented a place as their star forward. He managed to score 10 goals in 18 appearances when Newcastle dropped down to the Championship.
