Sheffield United looking to do a deal for Fulham defender

Sheffield United are looking to move forward a deal to sign Fulham defender Dan Burn on a 93-day emergency loan, according to the Yorkshire Post.

The Blades suffered another home defeat last night, this time to Colchester United who ran out 3-2 winners following Billy Sharp’s late penalty miss.

After the game, Nigel Adkins spoke to the press and confirmed that he is looking into the emergency loan market to strengthen his side. The Yorkshire Post reports that Fulham defender Dan Burn is a high priority on that targets list.

The 23-year-old made 20 appearances for the Cottagers in the Championship last season, and managed to find the net once. Burn has also previously spent part of the 2013/14 campaign on-loan at Birmingham City, where he featured 28 times, scoring one and assisting another.

Adkins had previously faced a dilemma about the timing of a deal for Burn, with the 93-day ruling meaning that he would have to return to Fulham before Christmas. Following two consecutive home defeats, and Adkins confirming he is entering the market, suggestions are that the Blades will look to push forward a deal to bring the defender to Bramall Lane.
