Pompey, Pompey Go Loco For Boco

Pompey Go Loco For Boco

Portsmouth have strengthened their right-back options by bringing in Rommy Boco until the end of the season.

Boco has been training with the Fratton Park side for several weeks having last featured for Indian side Bharat but has since agreed to be released. Portsmouth have sent him straight out on loan to non-league Havant and Waterloovile for one month to gain match fitness.

Benin international Boco links up again with manager Paul Cook having previously turned out for the Pompey boss at Silgo Rovers, Accrington Stanley and Chesterfield.

The 30-year-old adds much needed depth to the troublesome right-back berth with Ben Davies Pompey’s only recognisable right-back.

Cook has repeatedly talked of bringing in another full-back to provide competition for Davies who has had an excellent start to the campaign. However, there were some questions over the former Sheffield United man’s fitness with winger Gareth Evans having at one point to fill in while Davies was out injured.
