Six-way scrap for Manchester United youngster

When a Premier League team makes a highly-rated youngster available for loan, there is often a feeding frenzy of interest. This is the case with Manchester United youngster James Wilson according to the Hull Daily Mail.

In the report, it states that the “short-term future of Manchester United’s James Wilson is expected to be revealed this week” with Hull City being amongst the six names of interest in the loan hat. Hull City manager Steve Bruce is hoping to flex his influence and Manchester United links to gain a head start on the other five interested teams.

Despite having links and a relationship with Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs, the Hull Daily Mail say that these links might not be enough as more interested parties join the throng for the 19-year old Wilson.

It is thought that Derby, managed by Paul Clement, are favourites to sign the England Under-21 striker but other clubs, according to the Daily Mirror, such as Cardiff City and Bolton Wanderers, have expressed a definite interest in the Manchester United youngster.

Cardiff manager Russell Slade said that when a player of Wilson’s calibre comes on to the market, teams would be stupid if they dismissed him out-of-hand. Speaking of Wilson, Slade said, “He’s obviously a player of strong ability. Manchester United think a lot of him.” He goes on to say that Cardiff would likely be interested by saying, “It’s not a no from us.”

Bolton manager Neil Lennon agrees and also refuses to rule Wanderers out of the running for Wilson’s services. Lennon mentions that, “I think Manchester United have said there’s half a dozen clubs in for him and I could understand that. There would be an interest there, no question.”
