Jamie Paterson vows to show the fans

Huddersfield Town loanee Jamie Paterson, signed on a season-long loan from Nottingham Forest, has vowed to show Terriers fans what he is made of.

On his Town debut, at Cardiff City, Paterson tasted defeat as Huddersfield went down to a 2-0 score line that leaves them in 23rd place in the Championship. Paterson felt that the score line did not reflect the game and the way it panned out with the Forest loanee saying, “A 2-0 score-line makes it look like they dominated the game, but it wasn’t really like that.”

Paterson admitted that he was relieved to be playing as a number 10 in Huddersfield’s 4-2-3-1 formation, the position that he feels is his ‘preferred position’. Explaining his delight, he said, “as a youngster, I played as a number 10 and I feel that is my best position. Obviously some teams don’t use that position and have accommodated me by letting me float in from the left.”

The debut boy also went on to dispel the thoughts of those who see him as an out-and-out winger – something he sees himself not to be. He added, “I’m definitely not an out-and-out winger though; today’s position is my best.”

In a show of positivity, Paterson promises there is more bite in this Terrier with him promising, “Now, I hope to show the fans what I can do.”
