Leeds, Boo boys at Leeds need a reality check

Boo boys at Leeds need a reality check

At half time during the game with Brentford, the Leeds United players were booed off the pitch by a large proportion of the Elland Road crowd.

Having watched a lot of Leeds United football I agree, the first half performance on Saturday wasn’t the best. We let Brentford pass us off the pitch and made silly mistakes which let them in for Marco Djuricin to slot past Marco Silvestri. However I’ve seen much much worse in recent seasons, in comparison to games such as Brighton at home last season it was much much better.
So why 6 games into a new season would their own fans boo the players off the pitch? We’ve taken 8 points from those games and are still unbeaten. The situation Leeds United are in is 1000x better than it was 12 months ago. We no longer look like a group of chimpanzees running around aimlessly. We look like a team!
For those who think I’m not a realist, I’ll 100% admit that the first half performance was abject, shocking and awful, but were we 4-0 down? No, we went into the break 1-0, with more than enough time to get back into the match and really take it to the opposition.
We’re in a transition period at Leeds, new signings and new management, meaning it will be difficult sometimes for them all to be singing from the same hymn sheet. I’m going to say it again though, we’re unbeaten! We’re finding a way to grind out results. We should have beaten Bristol City no questions, and we should have held on to a win at Burnley but we still have an unbeaten record in a very difficult league, having played difficult teams.
The people who booed at half time, I’m talking directly to you now. Stop it. I’m not sure what you’re hoping to achieve by booing off the lads after not a great performance but it certainly didn’t warrant all your boos. This is YOUR team, and YOUR players are playing for YOU. Lets kick on and get behind the whole team for tomorrows game against Ipswich and keep our amazing start to the season going.
Lets be Leeds United and not Leeds Un-tied!
