Wolves striker turned down £10 million contract

According to a report by The Sun, Wolves striker Benik Afobe turned down a massive £10 million deal at Norwich to stay with the Championship club.

Norwich were targeting the Wolves striker, 22, for much of the transfer window and reportedly made multiple bids to try and tempt Wolves to sell.  It is understood the highest bid was around £10-12 million.

Despite the interest, Norwich could not tempt Wolves to sell.

Norwich also failed in tempting Afobe himself to leave the Championship side.  According to the report, Norwich offered Afobe wages of £40,000 a week on a five-year deal, totaling £10 million altogether.  However the striker did not feel the time was right to leave Wolves.

Afobe has two goals in five Wolves league appearances so far this season and looks to be staying with the club at least for the foreseeable future.
