Ex-West Ham captain training with Leyton Orient

Ex-West Ham United captain Kevin Nolan is training with League Two outfit Leyton Orient following his release from the Premier League club, Orient’s official website has announced.

The 33-year-old made 157 appearances during his time at the Hammers, scoring 31 and assisting 18. Nolan left the club after a four-year spell and is now a free-agent. The midfielder has featured over 400 times in the Premier League during his career, finding the net on 69 occasions.

A number of Championship clubs are rumoured to be interested in signing Nolan permanently, and Burnley boss Sean Dyche admitted last week that he was considering a move for the player. In the meantime, he will train with the O’s due to his good relationship with manager Ian Hendon.

Speaking with Leyton Orient’s club website, Hendon said that “It is great to have such a model professional in Kevin at the club, and I am more than happy for Kevin to come in and train with the squad.

“It is good for our players to be training with a vastly experienced and talented Premier League midfielder.”
