The Tottenham youth product has signed a three-year deal at Molineux with an undisclosed fee being agreed between the two clubs. Byrne who started his career as a right-back, has converted into a winger at the County Ground. He has made a fine start to the season for Swindon scoring a hat-trick on the opening day against Bradford and has featured in all six of the Robins’ games so far this season.
Having come through the ranks at Spurs, Byrne never played for the first team and after loan spells at Brentford, Bournemouth and Crawley, he setteld at Swindon. He had an impressive season in 2014/15 providing three goals and nine assists as Swindon made it into the play-offs and Byrne was included in the League One Team of the Year. Wolves manager Kenny Jackett was delighted with the signing of 23-year-old Byrne.
Kenny: “Nathan is an exciting young player who can play wide on either side, or as number 10 behind the striker.” #WWFC
