Jones to stay, another forward could leave Cardiff

Cardiff City forward Kenywyne Jones will stay at Cardiff City despite strong interest from Sheffield Wednesday over recent weeks. However, in news coming out of the Cardiff camp, it appears that fellow Blues striker Eoin Doyle could leave on loan, according to reports from WalesOnline.

These reports out of South Wales are even suggesting that Jones could agree a new deal in the coming weeks. He has been in impressive form scoring two goals in his past two games after returning to Slade’s starting eleven.

Eoin Doyle may be deemed surplus to requirements after Cardiff City signed young French forward Idriss Saadi. Although a section of Bluebirds fans would like to see Doyle get a chance.

Doyle has been linked with Portsmouth recently, but this would mean dropping two leagues – the deal has been described as ‘unlikely’ by Portsmouth News.

Portsmouth assistant manager said “‘He is one of those players the manager gets the best out of but I think we would be lucky to get Eoin Doyle.”

Doyle is yet to play in the Championship this season, some months after he was signed from League One outfit Chesterfield for £1m.
