Hull enter race for Watford striker

Hull have entered the race to sign Matej Vydra from Watford, according to the Nottingham Post.

The Tigers are keen to add another forward to their squad and boss Steve Bruce even admitted that they have considered a move for him, as he said: “He’s another one we’ve liked.”

However, it won’t be too easy for Hull to secure a deal for the forward – Nottingham Forest have also been linked with a move despite their current transfer embargo, with Dougie Freedman claiming he is a player that they would “look at.”

Hull are currently considering making a loan bid until the end of the season but they could very well end up signing the 23-year old permanently.

This is because Watford are unsure what to do with him. The Hornets are more than willing to let him leave on loan, whether it be for six months or until the end of the season. However, Forest boss Freedman has claimed that Watford would rather cash in on Vydra now and sell him permanently.

If this is the case, it would leave Forest unable to make a move for him due to their current embargo and it would leave the Tigers free to sign him without challenge. Therefore, Steve Bruce may consider making a permanent bid rather than a short-term one.

Either way, it looks like Vydra could be playing his football somewhere else this season. The only questions are whether it’s permanent or short-term and whether it is at the City Ground or at the KC Stadium.
