Tan’s Cardiff City v Fernandes’ QPR

Loftus Road will host this weekends biggest showdown as Queens Park Rangers host Cardiff City with Vincent Tan to be in attendance, reports Wales Online.

Vincent Tan’s Cardiff City v Tony Fernandes’ Queens Park Rangers. The ultimate showdown for the Malaysian compatriots takes place at Loftus Road on Saturday.

Tan had distanced himself from Cardiff matches as he is a very controversial figure attending a single game in February where his side lost 1-0 to Wolves.

However, he is now set to be in attendance at Loftus Road as his side will meet his friends Queens Park Rangers for the Malaysian battle.

Both have tasted success in the Championship and failure in the Premier League splashing out ridiculous cash on the way. However, both businessmen have now realised that you cannot buy the league and have dramatically cut their budget.

The R’s still have a strong squad after suffering relegation last season and have acquired some experienced Championship heads and at the moment of writing still have Charlie Austin on their books. Despite this, they still lost their opening match of the season 2-0 to Charlton.

The Bluebird’s squad is on paper not as good as Rangers’ but it is more suited to the rigours of the Championship. Manager Russell Slade has only brought in two players this summer but kept the main core of the robust squad from last year. They recruited well in January bringing in experienced heads to add to the quality already there.

City faired better on the opening day with a 1-1 against Fulham but this is the battle of the Malaysians!
