Tottenham reject Derby’s bid for midfielder

Tottenham have rejected a bid from Derby for Alex Pritchard, according to Shoot.

The Championship side are keen to add another midfielder to their squad with the news that Will Hughes will be out for six months due to injury. The Rams were hoping to land Pritchard but Spurs are keen to hold onto him this year and they have turned down the club’s offer to loan him until the end of the season.

Tottenham will have to deal with numerous games this year due to the fact they will once again be taking part in the Europa League and this season could be the year that the 22-year old finally makes the step-up to the first team on a regular basis, with the squad needing some depth due to the amount of fixtures.

Pritchard – who can play in midfield, as an attacking midfielder or even on the wing – has only ever featured once at White Hart Lane since joining the club’s youth setup back in 2009.

He’s had previous stints out on loan at Peterborough, Swindon and most recently Brentford, where he played 47 times, scoring 12 times and picking up 7 assists.
