QPR, QPR striker to be offered new deal

QPR striker to be offered new deal

According to a report by The Sun today, QPR striker Charlie Austin could be offered a new contract if he does not leave the club.

It is understood that Austin will be offered a new contract by QPR if no club comes in and meets QPR’s £15 million asking price.

Austin was widely expected to leave QPR this summer after the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season.  Despite this, Austin scored 18 goals in 35 Premier League appearances for QPR last season and this great form led to an England call-up for the 26 year-old, however Austin has not yet won an England cap.

Despite the speculation surrounding Austin leaving QPR this summer, Leicester are the only club that have made an official bid for the player, which was rejected by QPR.

However West Ham, Tottenham and Newcastle have all been strongly linked with Austin.  As time runs out in the transfer window and clubs miss out on other targets, one of these clubs may come in for the QPR striker.

If Austin stays at QPR beyond this transfer window however, the club will offer him a new contract.
