Clubs on alert as Crystal Palace prepare to sell seven

According to reports, Crystal Palace are preparing to sell seven players to recoup funds spent already in the transfer window.

Out of the seven players boss Alan Pardew has chosen to sell, Glenn Murray is heading to Premier League Bournemouth.

Dwight Gayle is perhaps the most in demand of the seven, attracting a lot of interest from Championship clubs looking to secure his signature of late.  The latest of these clubs is Middlesbrough, who were today linked with Gayle after seemingly giving up in their chase for Blackburn’s Jordan Rhodes.  Blackburn Rovers, along with Fulham, are also being linked with a move for Palace’s Gayle.

However Palace are not prepared to let Gayle go on the cheap, and are demanding £10 million for the striker.

Three midfielders, in Adlene Guedioura, Barry Bannan and Jonny Williams have also been put up for sale by Pardew and all three are believed to be attracting interest from Championship clubs.  These players may be available on cut price deals after not establishing themselves at Crystal Palace.

Also, Palace are willing to listen to offers for defenders Paddy McCarthy and Adrian Mariappa, who will both be no doubt interesting Championship clubs.

With so many players available who already have Championship experience, they are expected to be in high demand.
