According to reports, including one in The Sun this morning, Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes could be the subject of a bid from Premier League Sunderland.
The bid is understood to be around £8 million, which is what Blackburn paid for Rhodes back in 2012. However, Sunderland would also offer either Danny Graham or Will Buckley on a season-long loan deal with the player’s wages paid in full by Sunderland.
A bid of around £8 million alone for Rhodes would be unlikely to be accepted by Blackburn due to the club already having rejected a bid of £14 million from Middlesbrough. However Sunderland will be hoping the offer of a player could sweeten the deal enough for Blackburn to accept the offer.
Blackburn have a very small squad and could do with some more bodies in, however it is not known whether Danny Graham or Will Buckley are current loan targets of Gary Bowyer’s.
Rhodes has been the subject of transfer speculation all summer and Sunderland are the latest club to be linked with a move for the player.
