Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the signings of highly-rated Championship left-back Rhoys Wiggins on a three-year deal and Senegalese winger Modou Sougou on a two-year deal, as revealed by the club’s official Twitter feed.

Wiggins made 21 appearances for Charlton in the Championship last season, helping out with one assist. In total he has featured 128 times for The Addicks, scoring one and assisting 14.

The 27-year-old has been handed the number 16 shirt at the Hillsborough club for next season, and will push for a spot in the starting 11 for Saturday’s game against Bristol City.

Wednesday also announced the signing of Modou Sougou, who joins after leaving Marseille by mutual consent. The 30-year-old is capped at international level by Senegal where he has featured 14 times.

Sougou, who can play on either wing, made 24 appearances in Ligue 1 last season, scoring two and assisting five. 16 of those appearances were at Marseille, where he scored once and helped out with two assists. Soudou has been handed the number 24 shirt at Sheffield Wednesday.
