QPR boss expects pair to leave

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has revealed that he expects Charlie Austin and Leroy Fer to both leave the club, reports the Mail Online.

Austin has been linked with near enough every Premier League club this summer, with the rumoured teams ranging from Chelsea to Leicester, although no progress appears to have been made in shifting the striker.

The former Burnley man bagged 18 goals for the Loftus Road club last season, making him one of England’s hottest, and, thanks to QPR’s relegation, one of the most available assets.

Fer on the other hand is one of the club’s biggest earners, but has yet to attract as much attention as Austin, although Sunderland were rumoured to be close to securing his signature.

The young Dutchmen impressed the Hoops fans with his stunning strikes, contributing six goals to a thoroughly disappointing campaign.

Speaking to BBC London, Ramsey revealed his desire to keep the pair, but admitted it will be difficult.

“We know it’s a financial situation where the players, given the right offer, will probably go.

“Selfishly, I hope nobody comes in for them. Whoever’s in the building and can help needs to be on hand.

“What is happening is that the players are training very hard to get fit for the beginning of the season and if they’re fit they’ll feature.”
