Hull linked with Manchester United defender

Hull are interested in taking Manchester United defender Paddy McNair on loan to the KC Stadium, according to reports.

It has been reported that McNair is a target for Hull boss Steve Bruce after losing star centre back James Chester to Premier League side West Brom last week.  However it is not yet known whether Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is willing to loan out the player.

McNair signed a new contract with Manchester United last season, lasting until June 2017, and seems to be in van Gaal’s long-term plans.  The Dutch manager gave McNair his first-team debut last season and he played a total of 18 times for United.

Steve Bruce has already dipped into the loan market for Hull this transfer window, snapping up Arsenal youngsters Isaac Hayden and Chuba Akpom and McNair’s name could soon be added to this list.

For a young player, 20, McNair has experience for Manchester United in the Premier League so would be a great signing for Hull City if they can make it happen.
