Sunderland are preparing to make a move for QPR’s Leroy Fer, according to the Sunderland Echo.
The Black Cats are the latest team to be linked with a move for the 25-year old, who only made the move to QPR last summer. The midfielder has also been linked with a move to West Ham and Spanish side Sevilla.
However, it is Sunderland who are leading the race for him and they are hoping to have completed a deal for the Dutchman this week, just in time for the new season.
The deal is unlikely to be permanent, with the R’s having only signed Fer for £8m a year ago, with a move more likely to be on loan until the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
