Ex-Blackburn keeper Kean signs for Norwich

Newly promoted Premier League side have signed goalkeeper Jake Kean, after his release from Blackburn Rovers.

Kean, 24, has signed a two-year contract at Norwich after being released from his previous club Blackburn Rovers yesterday.  Kean said of the deal: “I had other offers, but as soon as I knew Norwich were interested, I could have just switched off my phone because I wasn’t going to entertain anything else”.

Kean came through the ranks at Blackburn and made his debut in a Premier League game away to Chelsea in 2012.  Kean had previously spent time on loan at both Hartlepool United and Rochdale.  The goalkeeper became first choice at Rovers mid way through the 2012-13 season.  However he lost his place to Simon Eastwood in 2014 and, partly due to injury, never regained it.

Norwich have signed a goalkeeper with lots of potential in Kean.  However due to him being behind John Ruddy and Declan Rudd in the pecking order at Carrow Road, Kean may be one for the future.
