Lees’ tied down until 2019 in new Wednesday contract

Announced today on www.swfc.co.uk, Tom Lees signed a new four-year-deal at Sheffield Wednesday after establishing himself as The Owls’ best defender of last season.

Lees played a big part in Wednesday equalling the most clean sheets ever in one campaign. Despite having a couple of years left to run on his existing contract, the new deal ensure he stays at S6 until Summer 2019.

Lees and Loovens” has become a familiar phrase around S6 as they have been centre-back partners since Lees’ arrival from Leeds United one year ago today. Only missing two league games for Wednesday in the 2014/15 season, this will come as great news to Wednesday all over the place.

With this new deal, if promotion does occur, will Tom Lees captain Wednesday throughout the next few years?
