The 24-year-old enjoyed a successful spell of goals during last season, finding the net 16 times in 45 appearances, he also helped out by contributing 8 assists as Brentford reached the Championship Play-Off Semi Final.
Gray has attracted a lot of interest from Championship clubs this season, most notably Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers.
The Bees were hopeful of keeping the striker this summer after signing him from Luton Town 12 months ago. Despite this, a £4 million price tag was put on Gray and it appears that Hull have matched that valuation and are free to discuss a move for the forward.
Hull are looking to bring in new forwards with the futures of Nikica Jelavic and Dame N’Doye unclear, as it is reported that a number of teams are monitoring the situations of the strikers.
