Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Michael Jacobs is poised to depart and sign for Wigan Athletic on a permanent basis.

Latics boss Gary Caldwell has been busy making plenty of deals in the last fortnight, as he secured the services of Everton duo Francisco Junior and Jonjoe Kenny on loan. and completed the deal of Manchester United youngster Reece James on a permanent tansfer. However, Wigan have parted company with Aaron Taylor-Sinclair, James Tavernier and Martyn Waghorn, who is set to be directly replaced by Jacobs.

The transfer fee for the former Blackpool loanee remains rather undsiclosed, but news outlets have reported that Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett has described it as a “very good” offer when he confirmed, on Saturday, that a bid had been accepted from Wigan.
