According to the Hull Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have made an enquiry for Hull City’s defender James Chester and have been told an offer of £8 million is required for the 26 year-old to leave the KC Stadium.
Chester has been with the Tigers for the past five seasons and has made over 150 appearances for the club – including over 40 in the Premier League.
The center-back was limited to 27 appearances in all competitions last season due to injury but was a key name on the team sheet when he was fit, and boss Steve Bruce is eager to keep the Welsh international at the club.
After starting his career as a 16 year-old with Manchester United, Chester spent six years with the Red Devils before being sold to Hull for £300,000 having made just one first team appearance for the Reds.
Standing at 5’11” Chester isn’t a typical aerial threat from the center of defence but makes up for this with pace, his ability to read the game and his consistency.
