Will any of the relegated clubs bounce back to the Premier League?

With just over 2 weeks to go until the Football League starts again a big question is, will the relegated teams be able to bounce straight back to the Premier League or will they struggle in The Championship. With Fulham and Cardiff both struggling in The Championship last year and Norwich winning The Playoffs it really is difficult to predict how they will do.

First of all we’re going to look at Burnley, after coming second in The Championship last time round they certainly have experience of getting promoted from The Championship but will they be able to cope after losing some of their star players. Last time around Burnley had players such as Danny Ings and Keiran Trippier with both of them now sold to Premier League clubs will Burnley struggle to finish as high as they did before? However Burnley have recently signed Jelle Vossen who spent last season on loan at Middlesborough and was very effective at this level. With talent such as Tom Heaton, Sam Voakes and Michael Knightley on the books in Lancashire, and with Sean Dyche at the helm I can’t see Burnley struggling too much in The Championship and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them battling for promotion at the end of the season. Predicted- 5th

Secondly we have QPR, the South West London club have had their ups and downs in recent season having been hopping from Premier League to Championship in the past few seasons. QPR are in a similar situation to Burnley, in the way that they will have to lose many of their main players from last season Premier League campaign, but not because they all performed to the best of their ability. QPR are in big money crisis, with their wage bill being mid range Premier League and if they kept all their players it would be the highest by far. They need to get rid of the dead wood in their squad, and in some cases the players they would preferably like to keep. With players such as Joey Barton, Sandro, Clint Hill, Robert Green, and Junior Hoilet, all high earners on their books, it is essential before the end of the transfer window that they sell some of their players. QPR still have talent in their squad with the likes of Leroy Fer and Matt Phillips so they definitely shouldn’t be written off. Also with the man in charge, Tony Fernandes putting his faith in Chris Ramsey to lead the club forward, it could be the stability they need to bounce right back to the big time. It’s going to be difficult for them however, losing lots of big time players and having to build a team on a limited budget, and with the possibility of losing superstar striker Charlie Austin I think QPR could struggle. I would hate to see it happen but I can see them going the same was as Leeds, Portsmouth and Wigan, going down to League 1 and in some cases, down again. Predicted- 17th

Finally we have Hull City, they spent 2 season in The Premier League before being relegated on the final day of last season. Hull I believe to be the most stable club after being relegated in May, mainly because there is no stand out player in their squad. Burnley had Danny Ings and QPR still have (for the time being) Charlie Austin. Whereas there is no stand out performer in the Hull City side they have players who are very underrated such as James Chester and Robert Snodgrass who would be a good addition to a Premier League side. Also with additions such as Dame N’Doye and Steve Bruce in charge I think Hull City could do very well in The Championship, they have the squad and the fan base to succeed at this level. They were a Championship team in The Premier League and with that team having played together for 2 years at a higher level it would be silly to write them off for automatic promotion. Predicted- 2nd

I wouldn’t be surprised to see 2/3 of the relegated clubs back in the mix come the end of the 2015/16 season. I think both Burnley and Hull City could both succeed in their first season in The Championship. Both have stable finances and both have a big enough fan base. However QPR do have the fan base but there finances worry me. With the cutting down they’re going to have to do to their squad I really think they could struggle and maybe in 2016/17 it could be League 1 football heading to South West London.
