Press speculation is mounting that, after being left out of the Leeds United squad to face Eintracht Frankfurt in Austria last night, striker Billy Sharp is in line to join South Yorkshire side Sheffield United with a rumoured move edging ever closer. Some commentators have indicated that The Blades have had a £500,000 bid accepted by Leeds United and that Sharp’s signature is all but wrapped up.
With The Whites having signed ex-Leicester and West Brom striker, Chris Wood, Billy Sharp’s chances of gaining decent levels of game time would be severely limited should he remain at Elland Road, especially as there are likely to be other striking options in front of him in recent signing Lee Erwin and last season’s top scorer Mirco Antenucci.
With news that the popular striker and self-proclaimed ‘Fat Lad from Sheffield’ could soon be leaving the club, Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to put forward their views on the matter at hand.
Billy Sharp didn't really get a chance last season, hopefully when he goes the money will be used to bring in a winger 🙏#lufc #mot

Torn on Sharp. I like the bloke, he seems to like us, but where does he play? Not sure there's call for his type of striker anymore.. #lufc
