Former Leeds United trialist links up with League One outfit

Versatile winger Adam Drury has joined League One side Bradford City on trial after failing to earn a contract with Leeds United following a three-week trial with the Whites which ended last Friday.

Drury played for Leeds in a pre-season game against York City but didn’t do enough to impress boss Uwe Rosler and has now been offered a chance by the Bamtams to earn a contract.

The opening signs are good for the 21 year-old – in his first game for Bradford yesterday he scored the opening goal in what turned out to be a 2-1 defeat at the hands of non-league Guiseley.

An attacker who can also fill in at right-back, Drury started his career with his home town club Grimsby before being snapped up by Premier League giants Manchester City at the age of just 12.

After eight years with City and two loans spells, to Burton Albion and St Mirren, Drury was released at the end of the 2014-15 season after failing to make an impression on the first team squad at the Etihad.
