Striker to trade Cardiff for Columbus?

Cardiff striker Kenwyne Jones has been linked with a move to MLS side Columbus Crew.

Jones has been attracting a lot of attention from MLS clubs of late after impressing in the Gold Cup for Trinidad and Tobago.  The striker captained the side to the semi-finals of the competition, where they lost on penalties to Panama.

Jones said: “I’m quite familiar with the MLS and maybe one day I’ll get there.  I don’t know when that is, but maybe one day”.

If Columbus do want to sign Jones, they will have to hurry as the MLS transfer window closes on August 6, and Jones has just returned to Cardiff for pre-season training.

Jones left Cardiff in March to join Bournemouth, who were ultimately promoted, on loan and has said he is unsure of his long-term future.

As of now Jones is still a Cardiff player but with the amount of interest coming from the USA, he may not remain one for much longer.
