Fulham plotting a move for former Everton prodigy

According to the Daily Mail today, Fulham are eyeing up a bid for Brentford youngster Jake Bidwell as the London outfit prepare for life without starlet Patrick Roberts.

The 22 year-old left-back has been an ever present for the Bees over the last four seasons racking up over 150 appearances and being a part of the squad that attained promotion from League One in the 2013-14 season.

Fulham are set to make a £1 million bid for the former England youth international however it is expected Brentford will hold out for more – especially due to the fact the Cottagers have just received £8 million from Manchester City for Roberts.

Bidwell started his career with Everton and spent nine years with the Toffees being one of their highest rated youngsters during his time at Goodison Park.

Part of the squad that won the Premier Academy League in 2010-11, Bidwell was awarded Everton’s Academy Player of the Year award for his performances in their title winning season.

Originally joining Brentford on a loan deal for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the youngster joined the Bees permanently in 2013 and Bidwell earned a place in the PFA Team of the Year for his performances during Brentford’s promotion winning season in 2013-14.

Highly rated at youth international level, Bidwell has earned caps for England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels being part of sides that won two tournaments in 2009.
