With David Mooney being the one recognised proven striker at the Club, Phil Brown continues his search for more attacking options. He is in ongoing talks with Noel Hunt, most recently with Ipswich, and is trying to get Craig Mackail-Smith in on trial. Both were/are proven strikers at Divison 1 and Championship level and if fitness and wages don’t prove to be an issue then could prove to be excellent signings.
But Mackail-Smith could be close signing for Luton, managed by John Still his former manager at Dagenham and Redridge. And discussions with Hunt seem to be protracted. So whether both or even one feature in our pre-season friendlies is debatable at this stage. But with the season just weeks away and a position the Blues woefully short of players in fans hope that two or three quality additons are signed soon.
